It was a cold January day when Eva first walked through Turning Point’s doors. She had just moved back in with her parents, raising her two-year-old son, unemployed, and trying to find stability. Then, during a doctor’s visit, she learned she was unexpectedly pregnant.
She felt overwhelmed, unsure how to move forward, how to tell her family, or what this meant for her future.
Eva confided in a friend who had once been in a similar situation. That friend told her about Turning Point and encouraged her to visit. That one conversation became a turning point of its own.
At our center, Eva was met with compassion, no judgment, and space to breathe. A nurse offered her the chance to talk through her feelings and walk through her options. An ultrasound was available, and Eva chose to have one. When she saw the flicker of a heartbeat, it brought up even more emotions—but for the first time, she felt safe expressing them.
She left with resources, support, and a follow-up appointment scheduled.
A few weeks later, she missed her next visit. Staff wondered how she was doing and hoped she was okay. Then, later that same day, she called."I missed my appointment this morning… can I still come in?"
She returned—this time ready to take the next step. With each visit, her confidence grew. She shared how surprised she was by the support she received from the center, her family, and her friends.
Today, Eva is in her third trimester. She’s doing well in school, receiving prenatal care, and looking forward to attending parenting classes at the center this summer.
Thanks to your support, Eva didn’t have to walk through a difficult moment alone. She was met with kindness, information, and steady encouragement as she navigated a challenging decision and built a path forward.
